Wild boars Research
Phase 1: Analyzing the wild boar behavior
In October 2018 started to monitor the wild boars in South-East Pelion with a trap camera and analyzing their behavior.
Phase 2: Experiments and Tests
Phase 2 is going to be experiments and tests to find cheap and affordable ways, tools and devices for everyone to install so we can prevent wild boars go into farms (or other places we don't want).
21.05.2021 - Started the experiments. First had to see if the wild boars were reacting to red-white tape and what their reactions will be.
05.06.2021 - First proof in video of the Experiment: Wild boars afraid red-white tape line.
06.07.2021 - The tape has started to wear out, it needed support on the edges (i put some wood branches to keep the tape but now it's matter of days before it will be completely useless.) But no signs of wild boars to pass through, they still afraid it.
22.07.2021 - This experiment has ended. The tape it must be wearing out but is still there. No wild boars have passed through those whole 2 months, they were just going around.
I am getting a lot of photos and videos of the wild boars going around and afraid to go through.
15.10.2021 - The tapes have been totally destroyed from the weather. Τhey disintegrated into small pieces only when I caught them.

Phase 3: Perception of citizens (Questionnaire)

Phase 4: Talking to the wild boars
The phase 4 is the most difficult. I need to analyze the sound data with the video data and all those sounds to play them in the wild to see how the wild boars are reacting. When i understand how the wild boars are reacting to each sound, i will create an android app to be able to play the sounds when someone sees wild boars to scare them, to make them come closer, etc.
